Competition Centre is located on Freedom square (Vabaduse väljak)

NB! For classes W/M 8-10 there is a short and simple orienteering course without string. The competitors are welcome to start at a freely chosen time between 18.00-20.00 (the parents are welcome to accompany the children to the forest).

Terrain and map

A highly variable terrain of streets and small parks in Tallinn city centre. The terrain consists of three different parts: a modern city with high towers; many blocks of large housing buildings from the 1950s; several districts of old wooden buildings. There are no notable height differences.

This is a new map for 2014

Size of the map is A4, scale 1:5000, contour interval 2 m. Maps are printed on water-resistant paper.

Event information

  • Individual start, middle distance with sprint map
  • Estonian Orienteering Federation ranking points are given in all classes.
  • 20 first from the Estonian ranking and 500 first from World Ranking will be drawn to the end of the start list in classes MW21A.
  • Distance from the Competition Centre to start is 900m
  • Pre-start is 4 minutes, the start interval is 1 minute (look at the starting procedure scheme from Monday)
  • Time limit is 2 hours
  • Shoes with metal studs are forbidden.
  • Follow sprint rules during competition
  • There are separate control descriptions for all classes at the pre-start

Prize giving

WM21A (WRE) winners will receive prizes on Monday (August 3) and on Friday (August 7), the prize giving starts approximately at 20.30.

Prize giving for Tallinn O-Week will take place as the sum of 4 competitions times (sprint, City Race, middle distance and 100CP). Prize giving will take place on Saturday from 14.00 as the results become available.

Driving instructions and parking

Parking will be possible in paid parking areas in Tallinn(see the map of parking areas at the end of the bulletin). Closest car parks are under and beside the Freedom square (Vabaduse väljak, 50m from Competition Centre).
